Our environmental risk assessments ensure that consideration is given to the local environment and that controls are in place to minimise the impact of any potential issues that may arise.

Jones Lighting manages our commitments and interactions with the environment responsibly and protects the natural environment wherever possible. 

We promote environmental sustainability to reduce wastage, limit energy consumption and procure materials from sustainable sources.

As one of the leading providers of Street Lighting and associated services within the UK we have an unparalleled track record of providing environmental sustainability through our actions in ensuring that we maximise recycling  of all the materials we utilise.

Jones Lighting are passionate about reducing waste and recycling wherever possible, and to this end we have undertaken the following environmental initiatives:

 

  • A Recolight collection point for waste lamps at all depots,

  • A lumicon collection point for waste lanterns at all depots,

  • Cardboard and waste paper recycling at all depots,

  • Paper reduction scheme across the business successfully reducing our paper consumption by 75% over the past 2 years,

  • Waste reduction scheme successfully reducing our waste to landfill through the use of recycled materials, 

  • Electrical cars for supervisors and managers and category 6 emission standard for all fleet vehicles,

  • 100% green electricity at our Head Office.

At Jones, we prioritize open communication with our stakeholders to discuss important topics such as reliability, sustainability, affordability, and vulnerability. We utilize various mediums such as face-to-face meetings, electronic mail, social media, and electronic questionnaires to gather information and feedback. Our engagement strategy is then distributed through our website, meetings, and social media to ensure transparency accountability. We also recognize our responsibility to act in a considerate manner towards local residents and contribute to the local economy by engaging with the local supply chain and recruiting from the area.
